Summary
As a Sentinel Wei Wuxian is constantly scrutinized by the cultivation world. He usually doesn’t mind, but when Lan Wangji labels him as a threat Wei Wuxian is pushed into proving he’s more than his designation in order to befriend his unwanted rival.
As Guide Lan Wangji needs to be in constant control to ensure that other people’s emotions do not overwhelm him and to keep his own emotions from influencing others. This control is challenged when he meets Wei Wuxian, who seems to break down every one of Lan Wangji’s barriers.

Summary
What does it mean to be one person living more than one life? Is it truly possible at all to be two people when you have only one skin, and only one heart to be shared?
These days, Lan Zhan has more names than friends. As Masked hero Hanguang-jun, he protects the night; as Lan Zhan, he nurtures his ward, A-Yuan. His only friend, his partner, and his almost-lover, the Mask known to him as Wuxian has died, and he is alone.

‘Alright, fine,’ huffs Wei Ying, blowing out his cheeks. He adjusts his grip on the smooth hilt of the sword, as cold as wet stone beneath his palm. ‘How do I give this back to you?’
‘I must trade with you something of equal worth,’ says the strange man.
‘Uh. Okay.’ Wei Ying rubs his forehead with his free hand. ‘How about your name? Your real name.’ In case he needs to file a police report or stalk this beautiful, scary man on google or something.
The man looks even more angry. He pulls his shoulders back and draws himself to his full height, which is rather impressive and forces Wei Ying to tip his chin up slightly.
‘My name is Lan Zhan,’ the man says.

"Lan Zhan," Wei Wuxian spoke to Lan Wangji, "If you don’t let me catch that ghoul, I will tell Nie Huaisang how you hold me in your sleep. That when you’re sleeping, you like to nibble on my ears. Hahahha! How about when we are bathing together…"
Lan Wangji could not stand it anymore. His ears flushed a bright red, contrasting nicely against his white and blue robes. He grabbed Wei Wuxian. To shut him up, Lan Wangji lifted him high above his head and threw him with all his strength straight into the bubbling water.
"Weeeeee!" Wei Wuxian squealed as he shot through the air and splashed into Biling Lake.
Rabbit shifter Wei Wuxian gets his wish answered when he wanted to be the familiar of a cultivator. Soon, he realised that he signed up for more than what he'd asked for.
Cultivator Lan Wangji likes rabbits.

“Have dinner with me,” Lan Zhan says. One of them has to ask it. They’ve been dancing around it, and Lan Zhan has the sense that if he doesn’t ask now, he won’t have the chance. Wei Ying feels like a ghost – some sort of apparition dreamt up by him and his phone. Lan Zhan tries to imagine sitting across the table from a set of pale-pale wrists and idol eyes. Can’t.
