    “He was dying Remus.” Sirius’ voice was strained as he finally voiced the thoughts that had haunted him since he was 15. “I was watching him die in front of me.” He put his hands up to cover his face. “I knew that I could take whatever she threw at me but that it would destroy him. That it already was and I couldn’t.” He choked on the words. “I couldn’t let it happen.”
    “It’s ok.” Remus soothed. “You did it. You got him out of there. You’re both safe.”
