It wasn’t supposed to go this far. It was a fairly simple mission, go to the lab and bring back Arahabaki’s vessel to be researched by the French Government.
However the mission proved itself not be so simple. Verlaine and his partner Rimbaud had managed to get inside the lab, and Verlaine was the first to find the vessel and also the first one to speak.

But if they wanted to kill Princess Zelda, they would have to get through eight battle-proven heroes who specialized in saving princesses and countries. Time adjusted his grip on his blade, sizing up his next opponent. No. Princess Zelda would not be dying today. He would make sure of it.
Or: The Chain portals right into the middle of an assassination plot against Princess Zelda. Even though this Zelda belongs to a Link they haven't met yet, the Chain will stop at nothing to protect her.
