Breathing was always a huge task. Deep breaths are basically impossible in the small, dusty cage. His legs were tucked into his chest, he was afraid to move a mere centimeter. His parents were mean today, with reason of course. Donatello was an idiot.
That's why they simply left him to die.
A broken family AU with Slash as a horrible parent. Donatello and Raphael learn about life way too soon, and way too late.

This was originally posted on Twitter/X, the ao3 version has better writing and it's more fufilling in a whole. Focused entirely on Donnie being a bottom or submissive. Usagi and Leonardo only appear in the sixth and seventh chapters.
The writing is (a bit) longer and more focused, better conveying the feelings I wanted in the original.
