As provided by the author:
When Doyle returns from leave after a minor injury he finds that Bodie has ‘resigned’ and his ex-partner is currently out in the field undercover and alone. Doyle is not having it. Against Cowley’s orders he sets out to find Bodie and to figure out what game Cowley is playing with them this time.
