“Please. Let me in.”
Ten hesitated. Of course he did. Why wouldn’t he? Fourteen had torn him apart multiple times in the past, and mercilessly at that. Fourteen treated his urges not just as a necessity, but as a hobby he enjoyed more than anything else.
“F… uh… you won’t eat me, right?”
“No.” Fourteen snapped. He didn’t care about food. Not right now. He was so, so cold.
“Do you promise?”
“Please. Yes.”
A few moments. Silence. The two numbers stood there, one shivering violently and the other content in his own warmth.
OR
A heavy storm wrecks the equation playground, causing Fourteen to search desperately for somewhere to stay. Luckily for him, Ten is a huge pushover.
