Summary
This is an alt-verse of another fic I did called The Lone Wolf. If you have not read The Lone Wolf yet, I highly recommend that you do so before continuing because otherwise this fic obviously won't make a ton of sense. It basically looks at what would've happened if Roose's post-RW plan from that verse had been successful and the Others had no means of bringing down the Wall.

Summary
The state of Westeros is littered with quiet, sleepy little towns, but none quite like Winter Falls. There was always something unwholesome about that one and everyone living there knew it, even if none of the locals could agree on the reason. Many of its residents distrusted each other and most families had their secrets...some darker than others. Winter Falls was like a thin scab. One little scratch was all it ever really took to peel away the veneer of civility and send the puss pouring out for the whole world to see...not that they ever did.
But none of that matters now, not anymore, because a new family has come to town. The Boltons were a strange lot, to be sure. They kept odd hours, entrusted an elderly veterinarian with all of their financial affairs, and their skin was nearly as pale as their cold, blue eyes.
