    Bob Reynolds—the most powerful man alive, and the most terrified of it—is now an honorary member of the New Avengers. He’s not allowed on missions, not allowed to fight, not even allowed coffee. While the world adjusts to the new team, Bob adjusts to something stranger: being left behind.
    But Yelena—former assassin, crooked smile, a knight’s heart—sees through him in a way no one else ever has. She doesn’t want the hero. She wants the soft man in fuzzy pajamas who watches cartoons and doesn’t understand he already has her heart. He wants to win her over. She just wants him to realize he already has.
    Hunted by former allies (Sam Wilson is not happy with the New Avengers being a team or Bob being free with how "dangerous" he is) and haunted by the Void inside him, Bob finds himself protected by the one person who sees him as more than a weapon. As the world debates what to do with him, Yelena gives him something it never did: a choice.

    Yelena is fire. She’s momentum. She’s too much and just enough in ways that Bob barely understands. He wants to understand it. More than anything. Because he has never loved anyone like he loves Yelena… in this way that makes him feel invincible and fragile, makes his heart race with hope and his hands tremble with fear.

    And Bob?

    He is trying very hard not to be a bomb. He’s trying to be small and useful. He’s trying to take care of things, because now he has something worth taking care of.
    In short: he’s got the good sense not to blow up the kitchen making coffee.
