Summary
When she’d tilted her head for Vi to follow her, to leave the cell she’d spent months in alone, Vi hadn’t known what to do. So, she’d taken one step at a time until she was down the hall and in the elevator. Had stood with the woman and the burly guard who’d walloped her good so many times over the years.
When she’d been given new clothes to wear, been given her release forms, all Vi could do was stare at the woman. Stare at her long and hard, unable to comprehend why she had actually gone and gotten her out.
She never got her answer—not verbally, but Vi knew.
Knew that Caitlyn Kiramman had, inadvertently, saved her life.

Vi isn’t sure whether this is the right thing to do but, when she stares into Caitlyn's eyes, the future doesn’t seem so frightening anymore.
It is not the first time her mind, or her heart, seems to gravitate towards Caitlyn. So maybe Vi is a bit smitten with her. Can you blame her? Just the thought of sharing the sun that hangs above them, and while Vi can’t look directly into it, the heat that melts into the skin that Caitlyn once touched, makes her heart rate quicken.
