Steve was already moving, his combat boots silent against the concrete floor as he slipped through the maze of crates and machinery. The suppressants might dull his omega senses, but they couldn't erase years of training or the natural instincts that had kept him alive this long.
He paused behind a stack of shipping containers, peering through a gap as chaos unfolded in the loading area. At least a dozen men were engaged in a firefight, but what caught Steve's attention was the small group standing apart from the violence, observing with an unnerving calm.
And then he saw him.
James "Bucky" Barnes stood in the center of the group, his presence commanding despite the casual posture. Dark hair fell across his brow, framing eyes that seemed to miss nothing. He wore a leather jacket over a simple black shirt, his left sleeve—Steve noted with a detached curiosity—ending in a sophisticated prosthetic that gleamed in the dim light. Everything about him screamed danger, from the confident set of his shoulders to the predatory way his gaze swept the area.
