"Andrew doesn't have friends," Aaron says. Blurts, really—loud and undignified and not what he meant to say. But like a bandaid from a too-fresh wound, it tears him open. "He has things. He just doesn't like that his things"—he makes a maliciously sarcastic set of air quotes—"play nicely together without him."
If Andrew had been carved from marble, he might have been livelier. Every inch of him now is stone, from the hard set of his jaw to the tension bunching in his thighs.
"I'm right, aren't I?" Aaron continues. There's something dangerous in him, howling down every synapse and nerve fiber until he's shaking with it. He doesn't have it in him to leash it; not today, not freshly off the high of a potential future built on want and not binding contracts. "You can't stand that you're not in control anymore, that we might not need you."
"You don't need me," Andrew says, voice gravel.
"Isn't it enough to want you?" Andrew's eyes go wide, but Aaron isn't finished. "Jesus, don't you get it? It's enough for your pet striker, so why can't it be enough for your own goddamn brother?"

Summary
It was their fault. Their girlfriends were always too busy and never had time for them and young men have needs that need be fulfilled. It was only logical Aaron and Kevin latched onto each other. It took only one drunken night of passion and sex to get them to enter into sleeping together frequently. From there, things begin to change as guilt borne of cheating and budding new feelings mix together.

Aaron and Kevin are not sure how it happened, but they are falling in love with each other while they are still dating their girlfriends. Should they break off their mutually beneficial agreement or break up with Katelyn and Thea? What was the morally acceptable choice?

With his heart racing, he turned back to the man. His face was quiet with confusion, not anger or aggression like Andrew had assumed, his eyebrows furrowing atop what were the bluest and prettiest eyes Andrew had ever seen.

This guy was still a potential threat. He had a few scars littering his face, a crooked nose from being punched one too many times, and brown unbrushed hair that was currently sticking up against the wall that Andrew had him pressed against.

Summary
He doesn't call Andrew, but he does text him. I am taking care of Katelyn's kid now, he types. Katelyn and her husband are dead. He hopes that's enough. Andrew probably won't respond at all, so Aaron turns off his phone and sets it on the arm of the couch. He uses his arm for a pillow and he closes his eyes. He's bone tired from working for sixteen hours and being awake for nearly twenty-four. He curls around Sophie protectively and falls asleep within minutes from sheer exhaustion. He has nightmares, but he doesn't wake.

Summary
Kevin had been Riko's shadow for a decade and as much as he was happy and relieved to be free of him he also felt an empty ache like a chunk of himself had been removed, spliced and severed from him leaving a bloodied gash in its wake. knowing that Riko no longer existed outside of his head made his chest tighten, it wasn't longing but it was a complete dissection from what he felt was possible. Of course he had known that logically Riko was only a man but that didn't change anything really. Riko was still untouched, a figure leaning over Kevin waiting for him to fault.
There were a million things Aaron could say that might actually be productive. That it made him irrationally angry that now even Andrew put him behind someone else, that he felt like Neil had stolen his family, that Neil had shown up and he and Kevin understood each other in a way he never could. That they all didn't hate Aaron because he was difficult or dysfunctional but because of who he was, because they all loved Neil. That somehow Neil never tried at school and his GPA was only .0023 lower than Aaron who killed himself studying. That Andrew was the only thing he might've considered home and Neil took him.
Maybe things change.
