"What are you doing here, Mike?" Will asks. His heart is a thundering mess against his ribs as he looks at Mike with ambivalence. He swallows thickly. "When did you leave Hawkins?"
Mike is enraptured with the dark liquid swirling around in his mug. Slender fingers tap against the glass when he says, "Four years ago." Will's stomach does a flip. "And it's because of you." Onyx eyes meet his. "I came here for you."
Will takes a deep breath. Fuck.
OR: Four years ago, Mike followed Will to New York, blindly hoping he’d see him again. What he doesn’t expect is for Will to move in next door. They seize this newfound opportunity to learn more about themselves and what it truly means to be “best friends”.

“It’s not that bad, actually,” Will says, with a smile Mike can tell is just a bit forced. “We are both tall enough, so we still should be able to see fine.”
But looking at the people in front and around him, Mike knows that Will would have to be on his tiptoes to really see the stage, and would end up watching the show mostly from the big screens. A good boyfriend wouldn’t let that happen.
“Or…” Mike starts, with a face Will learned to fear as it would usually preface the worst of his plans, “we could push our way to the front.”
