“Fuck! All right. Let's say for sake of argument it was a come-on. Okey? What do you want me to say? I take it back?” He asks, frenzied, “All right, I take it back!”
Shane gawks at him, “You can't take it back!”
“Why the fuck not?“
“It's already out there!” Shane screams, clear panic in his voice. With all his might he is trying to concentrate on the road.
“Gospodi! What are we going to do now?” Ilya exclaims, throwing his head against the back of his seat and gesturing animatedly, “Call the cops. It's already out there!”
Shane is moving to New York, and is asked to take Ilya along on the ride. Over the next few years he will be regretting the decision, then savouring it, until eventually he will be eternally thankful for it.
