The room turns red as the Hiss gets in through the hole in the ceiling. Dylan doesn’t know what to focus on next. Zoe’s desperate calls are still ringing in his ear like an echo. The aberrant appears in his hand as he takes a deep breath to calm himself down; breathe in, breathe out. With another deep breath in he jumps down from one of the patterned rooms onto the back of a Hiss Ruiner.

During one of their routine not-dates, Dylan’s curiosity finally gets the best of him. Zoe goes along with it anyway (with a laugh, with a soaring heart) because if there’s anyone who can coax him out of his shell (and his pants), it’s her.
It’s a lot of them touching base until they understand one another. It’s Dylan and Zoe touching each other until they each find release.
