Azriel’s gaze was almost unreadable, but Eris had come to know him well enough to catch the glimmer of despair hidden there, the faint crack in his careful mask. "I’ve spent my eintire life searching for you," he said, voice raw.
Eris’s eyes hardened. “And that was your mistake, Azriel. Not mine.”
