    Keith looked away, not wanting to see Lance light up at the sight of Allura’s arrival.

    The rustle of the sheets and Keith could hear the shuffle of Lance’s weakened legs as he crossed the room. He waited for them to stop at Allura, to hear the sound of Lance’s voice crooning some stupid pickup line at her.
    The shuffling of his feet went right past her, and all of a sudden Lance’s face was looking up at Keith from where he was kneeling before him. His face was feverish, pink standing out on that brown face like a sunburn. His eyes spoke of worship as he stared at Keith as if he had never seen a sight so painfully lovely.

    Keith’s heart stopped.

    “Oh, raven haired beauty.” Lance whispered, reverence lacing the sound of his trembling, rough voice. “Why do you not look at me when I burn only for you?”
