Summary
It’s a bit like a shark smelling blood, he thinks as they follow close behind. It's natural they were going to want to taste it, too.
“Well,” Copia says, “some of us need our beauty sleep.” He hesitates, and then proceeds to look nervously between the two of them and continue, “I meant me, of course. You two are already very, erm. I should go to bed.”
It’s such a flimsy excuse. The elevator reaches the third floor before any of them speak again. Aether clears his throat.
“You don’t want to though.”
Copia looks very called out, but can’t do much more than stare, before realizing the two ghouls beside him are waiting for an actual answer of some kind. The elevator beeps as it passes the fourth floor.
“No,” Copia says slowly, and Aether’s stomach does a little swoop. “I don’t.”
Or,
Sometimes the reward is worth the risk.

Summary
Copia is fairly certain that humans, usually, do not possess the biological capacity to purr. And if by some divine provenance any rare occurrences to the contrary were to be found, the likelihood of three such individuals congregating by chance in what is intended to be his private study is improbable, to say the least.
In which Cardinal Copia finally unlocks the filing cabinet drawer in his brain labelled 'personal ghoul based thoughts to confront at a later date'.

Summary
So I stopped and asked if I could stay
And you, remarkably, (though your hands were stunted with gold and silver
and you seemed more like a shell than a man)
Said yes.***
Whilst the grief stricken and ever-changed Sindri isolates himself in a haunted house of his own making, a human breaks into not only the Realm between Realms, but also his solitary life. Insisting that they themselves wish nothing more than to retrieve their own dead family, he sets about to aid the human, providing his services one last time in creating an offering worthy for a goddess in exchange for their souls in return.
… Let’s just say he gets more than he bargained for.

Summary
There is a beast stalking the Wildwoods.
It wanders between the trees roaring and moaning like a Fimbulwinter wind, dragging behind it fire and steel and blood.
