The second thing that she recognized was the card holder clipped to the side of his jeans. A limited-edition Fig Stew card holder. That was when Castorice realized that Phainon also played the same game, and his favorite character just happened to be one out of two chimeras featured in the story she was selling.

After waking up, Link learns a lot from the monsters on the plateau. Way more than he learned from Rhoam. When he finally leaves, the Hylians are scared of him; his scars, the way he moves, how he speaks in grunts and growls instead of words. Impa helps him learn enough Hylian to get by. He doesn’t dislike hylians… at first. As he remembers the abuse from his time as a knight, his opinion sours. He still frees the divine beasts, reclaims his sword, helps people, but every interaction with Hylians feels forced. It’s not comfortable, unlike his interactions with the monsters. Sure, he kills a lot of malice-mad monsters, but he spends as much time as possible hanging out in the sane monster camps.
Link defeats Ganon, frees Zelda, and escorts her to Kakariko... but then he leaves. The Sheikah can protect her. He’s not the Hylian Champion anymore, he’s the Mythos Champion: the Hero of Monsters.
