Summary
Anne Shirley Cuthbert was a lot of things, but not stupid. She knew how dangerous it could be to be near trees when a violent storm was raging outside. Mother Nature was conspiring against her. She had landed in the middle of a monsoon and was seriously unsure if she would make it to Green Gables without getting hypothermia.
She was aware that Gilbert's house was nearby, but in her wounded pride, she was actually thinking about what would be better: hypothermia or facing Gilbert Blythe after he turned her down.

JJ was quiet, staring out at the water, letting her words sink in. “I don’t want to drag you down, Kie. You deserve someone who isn’t…this…this messed up.” His voice was rough, full of self-loathing. “Just go. You don’t need me in your life.”
Kiara took a deep breath, her heart pounding as she realized what she had to tell him. Reaching into her pocket, her fingers trembling, Kiara pulled out a small white stick and held it out to him, her voice barely above a whisper. “It’s too late for that, Jayje.”

“That’s stupid”, Dean mumbles and brushes his thumb over Cas’s forehead where a drop threatens to run down into his eyebrows, “You’re stupid.” Somehow the words come out affectionate.
Cas makes a considerable noise.
