Nothing enraged him more than watching his Shooting Star rotting in her own mind. She wasn't supposed to be like this. It starts out with little things. Harmless things. Tanjiro sees you barely ate anything at dinner, and later that night he comes to your bedroom with a plate of food for you. “You should eat,” he tells you.
“I’m not hungry,” you say, almost a little petulantly. The food looks good and you know he’s trying to be nice, but you’re not a child. You can take care of yourself, and even when you can’t it’s not his job to do it for you.
“Eat,” he says again softly. It’s not a command. It’s like he already knows you’re going to eat, and he’s just patiently waiting for you to give in.

You've had a lot of time to think about kindness. More time than you know what to do with, really. Being alone so often does that to you. You're pretty sure you'll never find a home- not after the accident that's left you looking like something you'd scrape off the street.
But life has a funny way of proving you wrong, and ironically enough, life chooses to use a pair of skeletons to do so.
...Stupid skeletons.
