Then something sets off in Mike because he is nothing if he is not bold.
He’s joking now, but Will can see that hint of sincerity in his expression, feel it in the waver of his voice as Mike leans in just a little bit too close (Will isn’t complaining) and says three words that could change the course of Will’s entire life.
“We could… practice”
Will is dumbfounded.
Will is free falling from the top of a cliff.
Will is being crushed by a thousand tonne brick.
Will is everything and nothing and dead and alive.
Will is Losing. His. Goddamn. Mind.
And Will is having a very hard time controlling his answer.
Mike is not just suggesting to kiss Will as part of a plan—he’s asking to kiss Will for “practice”; he’s asking to kiss Will seemingly just because.
But Will is aware of one fact now.
Mike doesn’t know how Will feels.Mike has had a lot of ideas in his lifetime. Some of them good, some of them bad. Offering to not-really-but-also-kind-of-yes-really fake (???) date Will is one of those afformentioned ideas.
Will is just as confused as you are.

“I love you,” Kieren says. “I love you a lot.”
“More than the worm?” Ron asks. It sounds a little pathetic the second it falls from his lips, but he needs to know where he ranks in Kieren’s heart. Hopefully he’s high, highest, or close to it.
Kieren pats his hair. “I don’t love the worm at all.”
The longer their relationship continues, the less important worms and digging and dirt are to Kieren. Ron wants to celebrate by making their first time absolutely perfect.
