Summary
Her thumb gently strokes the backs of his knuckles; he feels the warmth of it unfurling down the length of his spine, slow and sweet as golden honey.
"Anything for you," he says, too honest for his own good.

Summary
"Come now," he says, the words honeyed and coaxing, his hands rucking up the hem of her shift ilm by ilm until her hips are bare. She doesn't stop him. "You've wondered what it's like. Having him. Or rather, being had by him."
"Raha," Solene says again—but all the resolve has bled from her tone. Her eyes are wide, diamond-bright, pupils steadily beginning to swallow up the light.
G'raha takes this opportunity to push back, slowly—laying her out beneath him once more. She peers at him through the midnight sweep of her lashes, eyes growing heavy lidded as he kneels above her and continues, "I could tell you. I could show you."

Summary
"If I were to tell you that this isn't the end—that we will meet again—would you believe me?"
His hands are motionless within her own, but warm. "I believe you," she whispers, though her heart cries out loudly, wailing fear. She pushes it out, pushes everything out, and releases the vessel at last into his waiting grasp. "You're a terrible liar, after all."

Summary
Behind him, Solene laughs softly.
“How lovely he looks like this, don't you think?” she murmurs, still speaking to Aedric, almost as if G'raha isn't even really there. Caught between the two of them like something to admire and amuse themselves with, to do as they please; the thought sends heat curling through the pit of his belly.

Summary
E'li peers at him through his lashes, a resolute gleam in his eyes even as a vivid blush stains his cheeks. “Perhaps it would not feel half so daunting if… if you might show me how to do it properly, this time.”
G'raha raises a hand to E'li's brow, tenderly brushing aside his fringe to meet his gaze. “I fear that it would be a rather brief lesson, my love, with how thoroughly you undo me,” he says, smiling.

Summary
G’raha blinks dazedly in the light, her lovely face swimming into view.
“Oh, darling,” she says, plainly trying not to laugh again; his pupils are monstrously large. She puts her palm to his chest, feeling the feverishness of his bare skin and the triphammer rhythm of his heart. “How many pieces did you eat?”

Summary
It's all he can do to not inhale again, deeply; to fight the sudden urge to lean close and press his nose to the delicate slope of her neck, his lips to the hollow of her throat between the pale ridges of her scales, and spend bells like that, just breathing her in. His mouth practically waters, he's so—
“Hungry?” he asks, a little faintly. Get ahold of yourself, G'raha Tia.

Summary
"Thank you," she says eventually. His brow quirks, and she smiles. "I should have said it last night. Thank you for coming here with me, Raha."
He leans into her, their noses bumping once more, limbs tangled under the quilt. "I would go wherever you bid me," he says, taking her hand.

Summary
Solene’s smile is his first prize, the genuine glow of pleasure at his answer so radiant to his eyes that surely, he thinks, surely this is what it must be to stare freely at the sun, if one had the power to do so without the risk of burn.
“You need not dress,” she says, gently patting the space beside her. “Come sit.”
Oh, but what a thing it would be, G’raha thinks, silently padding over to do as she bids—to simply let the heat overwhelm, and go up as kindling for the flame.

Summary
"Raha," she starts, voice dropping to a whisper. "Do you remember when I would sneak into your bed?"
He raises his head to look at her; it takes a moment for the fog of need to clear from his eyes enough to recall the memory. Then it surges back twofold, pupils dilating so wide that his irises are naught but a thin ring of blood red around them, and oh yes, he most certainly does.

Summary
His fingers gently comb through her half-silvered tresses. “If I’m allowed to fuss over you, then I mean to take full advantage of it.”
Her answering smile is brilliant. “Like a lover?” she murmurs teasingly.
He kisses her again—harder this time, fervent and honest with his desire, his teeth nipping sharply at the softness of her bottom lip. “Like your lover,” he breathes when they part.

“Oh, I’ve missed that,” she whispers, tipping her head at him. There’s a naked vulnerability rarely heard in her voice—the kind reserved for him alone, that makes his heart trip over itself. “That way you look at me.”

Summary
“They move their bodies to bring pleasure to those who are watching,” the dragon had said of the moving mortals—the dancers. And she’d scorned it then, the strange, needlessly complicated measures that people in this world took for pleasure.
But this is something else.

Summary
There will always be two parts to her. The hero and the woman, all ideals and imperfections.
But she sees them both now, reflected back at her in the ruby shine of his eyes, cupped tenderly in his hands. Equal in measure, in worth. As though the whole of her is a jewel, priceless, her every facet exquisite.

Summary
“My Raha,” she says, and in the fog of need, G’raha wonders if she understands just how much it feels, most times, as though she is not only the lodestar by which he'd charted the course of his life, but—
But the sun itself. Radiant and warm and beautiful, and him, ever circling in her orbit. And him, ever turning his face toward her light, reaching out, hungering for that warmth.

Summary
It’s a lifeline—an opportunity—that she shouldn’t latch on to. But she does, and she tells herself it’s the drink that makes her seize it.
“We are,” she says, voice low. “There’s hardly anyone in the world I trust more than you, G’raha. If it wouldn’t trouble you…”
He shrugs, his smile taut but sincerity shining in his eyes. “What’s a little trouble between friends?”

Summary
“Though I’ve taken up a different trade in the time since,” she starts, her voice warm and wistful, drawing all eyes in the room in the effortless manner she does. “I began my adventures as a bard. I thought, on this last night here, that I might play a song for you all.” She smiles, a touch coy, the dark spill of her half-silvered hair cascading down one shoulder as she nods to the crowd. “If it pleases you."
A farewell celebration for the Scions on their last night in Revenant's Toll, seen through the eyes of the Seventh Heaven's humble bartender, Alys.

Summary
“When I meet your eyes, I think of how relieved I am,” the Exarch whispers. “How joyful. For you survived, Solene. For ‘tis true that the light left its mark upon your body, but when I look at you, I see no horror to recoil from. I see the proof that you lived, that you stand before me unbroken, and if there is a sight in any reflection fairer than those eyes of yours, I fail to believe it. Certain as I am of the beauty of countless sights in the world that I’ve yet to see, I know in my heart that none will ever compare to you.”

Summary
“I’m entirely yours,” he says, heat burning up the back of his neck, across his face. “For the next few days, at least.”
She draws back slightly and levels him with a meaningful look—full of the implication that he has been and will continue to be entirely hers for far, far longer than that, and she knows it all too well.
