Dundy is an old hand, seasoned after a couple of years herding mustangs somewhere in the wilds of Montana. James Fitzjames is brand new, and so is everything he wears. He’s a little more open about his sexuality than Dundy is, clearly experienced, while Dundy has barely indulged himself. They’re from two different worlds, and James Fitzjames is like a lightning strike in Dundy’s life. They carry on a torrid affair, even as they both get married, James rather happily and Dundy… Well. Not quite so happily. The greatest escape they both have is camping in the beautiful wild spaces of Montana, carving out their own happiness, which Dundy just about resists every step of the way.
Is there a resolution, or is it just going to be Loss, In Some Measure, all the way to the bitter end?

Summary
ACT I: March, 1845. James Fitzjames finds himself attracted to a woman for the first time in his life. Faye Fisher prefers the company of women, and James prefers the company of men; this is to their mutual benefit.
ACT II: November, 1847. Faye goes with Lady Jane and Sophia to the meeting with the Admiralty and offers to help fund the rescue mission. She only asks for James Clark Ross to lead it.
April, 1848. Men are sick and desperate. There is an attempted mutiny. James has a falling out with Dundy. Ross arrives just in time.
ACT III: May, 1848. Faye and Francis meet each other. The men are nursed back to health. Some conflicts are resolved. Others are left unsettled.Alternate Title: The One Where James Clark Ross Comes to the Rescue, As Promised, On Time, But Only Under Extreme Duress From One Faye Fisher Fitzjames
