I'm taking my two favorite characters into a whole new universe!
Welcome to a version of the world created by Deborah Harkness in the All Souls Trilogy, a series that tells the story of Diana and Matthew, a witch and vampire that fall in love. In her universe of creatures, vampires, daemons, and witches all live amongst humans, but for centuries there have been rules against any intermingling, rules that have recently changed. Despite the covenant being broken, the prejudice and fears between species still exist.
This is the world that Carol and Therese find themselves in. Carol is a witch, born into a well-known family. Therese is a vampire. They are drawn to one another for reasons neither can explain and must fight against their own cultures, traditions, and feelings in a brave new world.

“Andréa, what do you want?” It’s not the question Andy had expected, and the thought that maybe Miranda expects her to ask for a favour on the way out crosses her mind. Rather than flooding her with indignant outrage, thought, it spreads a sharp sadness between her ribs to wrap around her heart.
“You don’t know?” Andy surprises herself with the genuinely amused colour in her tone. Her only answer is the careful arching of one perfect brow. “I want you to teach me everything.”
As she stumbles blindly back through the door, she realises that’s the closest she can conceivably get to speaking the whole truth

It may be modern Greece but when Andy Sachs sees the beautiful stranger sitting in her chair by the sea she chooses to extend the ancient rite of ξενία (Xenia) giving hospitality to the stranger. After all the woman is so classically beautiful she could be the patron Goddess of travellers, Athena Xenia herself.
