“Well?” Buck said, finally facing Bobby. “Is it what you wanted? What you expected to happen? You told me they wouldn’t let me back. You told me, pushed, actually, saying I wasn’t ready. Said they were the ones holding me back and that’s why I had to find another job for the time being.”
“This isn’t what I wanted.” Bobby said quietly.
“Ok.” Buck nodded. “I guess … I guess that’s that.” Buck walked over and took the letter back and kept walking to head toward the stairs to actually clean out his locker.
“What the hell is going on?” Eddie demanded.
“I’m being transferred.” Buck said, looking back over his shoulder.

Summary
“Give me that,” Chim huffed, stealing the question from Hen and holding it up, trying not to laugh too, “have you ever been in handcuffs?” Hen and Karen cackled louder, but Buck shared an unimpressed look with Athena.
“You want us, as family,” May clarified, “to answer whether any of us have been in handcuffs, without any context?”
“Oh god, I didn’t think about that, never mind!” Hen said, stealing the question back. “Nope, we are not gonna scar poor baby May that way.”
“How many different ways can you end up in handcuffs?” Eddie asked, flushing a little when everyone looked at him.
“Several.” Athena and Buck answered together. Maddie actually did fall off her chair laughing that time.

Buck has a secret. Well four big secrets. He never meant for them to be secrets but when he joined the 118 they assumed some things and he just didn’t correct them.
They assumed that he was an irresponsible, frat guy who slept with half the population of L.A which might’ve been who he was if he never met Eddie.

“Gentlemen. Ma'am,” he greets. Eddie looks over the man's shoulder to see Buck unfold the letter, his face falling deeper into despair the further down the page he gets. “I am Lieutenant James Francis of the United States Navy SEALs. I have already spoken to your Chief, but I wanted to come here personally to explain the situation. As of this morning, Evan Buckley has been officially reinstated for active duty.”
