Summary

Nothing can quell Azriel’s hatred—not even Eris’s willingness to risk his life to ally with the Night Court. Though when the two of them are forced to search for a possible Cauldron-made item together, they discover more about each other than either of them could have expected.
The story picks up around 10 months after the events of ACOSF. It contains spoilers for the Crescent City-series, but is not a crossover.

Eris didn’t have a better way to describe the unsettling feeling that had become more and more pronounced as of late, like his skin was too tight and his brain was too far away. It made him feel decidedly not like himself, it made all he had to do harder and Eris hoped that this indulgence would set him back to rights.
That wasn’t how mating bonds worked. This wasn’t how it was supposed to work. You either accepted the bond or you did not. You didn’t string them along for years.
