    Katsuki's quirk means that his body runs HOT. And Izuku is a cuddler. In winter, everything is perfect, but in summer... it's not.

    So instead of just finding any normal solution to their very singular problem, every summer they break up so they don't cuddle and boil in the heat, and then they get back together as soon as the weather cools down again.

     

    Of course, no one else has any idea why the two boys are acting so weird at the summer training camp.

    It's their second year as hero students of UA. Which means it's the first year Izuku Midoriya and Hitoshi Shinso can participate in the annual mock hero training exercise. Before their first year they traumatized the entirety of the then second year classes who are now pro heroes by turning this very exercise into a bloodbath by acting like villains with underhanded tactics and a lot red paint. So how will they fare being on the hero side of things?

    Izuku Midoriya is suicidal. Why wouldn’t he be? No parents, no friends, no future.

    But he’s not quite ready to throw his life away.

    He should at least try to throw it at some villains.

    So he becomes a vigilante. But not a brave, heroic crime fighter, dodging heroes and officers at every turn.

    No, he gets arrested his very first night out.

    Through a combination of bullshitting everyone, quirkist lawmakers, and the technical definition of vigilantism, he makes it back out onto the street.

    It’s just self defense, right?

    Or,

    Izuku’s a vigilante, a pretty good one too, but he’s shit at dodging law enforcement. Luckily for him, since he’s not actually breaking any laws, he doesn’t have to.

    "The world was gray. Static. A low-humming vibration of indifference that coated everything."

    Izuku isn't sad anymore. He's just tired. He has a plan, a date, and a countdown. He just has to survive his third year of middle school, and then he can finally stop the noise.

    But when a mandatory Social Studies project on "Nature vs. Nurture" pairs him with his childhood friend-turned-bully, Izuku is forced to engage with the world he's trying to leave behind. Through the lens of a camera and weekly meetups, Bakugo begins to notice that the nerd isn't scared anymore—he's empty.

    And Bakugo decides he hates the silence more than the muttering.
