I care about him enough to hate. But now? Now he doesn’t hate me. He won’t bother me. He doesn’t care enough! But I still hate him. I still care about him enough to hate. Where does that leave me? What am I now? He calls me Mister! Not my name, not my nickname, fucking Mister like I am someone who he stumble upon on his morning walk!

Vincent nods with more conviction this time. If he could safely move his hand, he’d justify it all– spill his guts, explain exactly what had happened, would probably throw in that faux-noble crap about revenge for the women he’d wronged and the hurt he’d caused. Anything to sell his story. Maybe he could pretend it was an accident. Temporary insanity? That was what they called it in court shows. Would anyone believe that?
The stranger chuckles, softly, and reaches forward to cup Vincent’s jaw in one hand.

Vox was lucky to have already collapsed, because his knees weakened at the sound of the man's voice. Through all of this, sentimentality gave way to the burning humiliation and rage again. Who the fuck does he think he is, showing up here? For what? To rub it in his face? He growled lowly in response.
“Come to finish the job? Cause I’m pretty damn sure that guy you just reduced to atoms was gonna do your dirty work for you.”An old-timey laugh track crackled through the air as Alastor came into Vox’s full view. “Quite the opposite, my dear.”

Summary
With the news that Sir Pentious has been redeemed, Charlie agrees to let Emily come down to the Hazbin Hotel to help them start figuring out just how redemption works.
Heaven also sends an angelic reporter down to help document it, and Alastor is quick to see past the man's bright animated smile and feel the darkness that surrounds the winner. This angel, Vox, is not what he seems to be. Alastor wants him, and Alastor always gets what he wants.

“It’s quite the opposite, actually. I’ve come to help you,” Alastor said, as if it wasn’t the most ridiculous thing Vox had ever heard.
“How stupid do you think I am?”
“Exceedingly so,” Alastor smirked and Vox scowled. He’d walked right into that one.
Alastor held up his hands in a sassy, little shrug. “But as I told you earlier, you helped me break a chain that’s been a thorn in my side for a very long time. So I believe I owe you more than a simple thank you. Look, I even brought you a gift.”

Vox is forced to deal with the consequences of his failed takeover of Heaven in the worst way he can imagine. Being left alone with his own thoughts. Thankfully, his arch rival and old crush Alastor shows up to distract him.
