Summary
The illusion of solitude has been shattered now, and Kris will probably close the piano. Like all the other times when Noelle tried to connect with them on a level in which they didn’t wish to be understood.
They open and close their mouth a few times. Their eyes are wide, as if surprised to hear their own voice.
Kris turns to face them a little bit better. “Any song requests?”
Noelle blinks. What?
Susie and Noelle overhear Kris playing the piano. A conversation without the SOUL ensues.

Summary
One night, Noelle found herself witnessing a slow-burning cuddle conspiracy and teetering on the brink of emotional combustion, all from the perilous vantage of third-wheel proximity. Nothing romantic occurred… except, of course, in the theater of her exceedingly loud mind.

Summary
“S'not your fault that—”
“—I hurt you,” Susie finished. She chewed on the concept, the edges of her voice frantic, her throat thick. “Because you deserved it.”
“Yes.” Kris pressed her hands against their chest. They smiled in a way that failed to be reassuring. Each desperate breath shuddering through their lungs confirmed everything Susie didn't want to know. “S’fine. It’s okay.”
Kris burned like a charred pan straight out of the oven, or an oil fire stoked by liquor. Susie reeled away. “You—you were trying to set me up,” Susie accused, trying to edge words around the chasm opening in her gut. “You were trying to get me to hit you.”
Kris wants Susie to hurt them. They need her to hurt them. Susie isn't as on board with the idea as they are.
