Saving Arcadia Bay was the hardest decision that Max Caulfield ever made and it is very nearly one that she *didn't* live with until an entirely unexpected guardian angel came into her life and helped her make a future. Along the way, she found that the strangeness of life was not hers to bear alone.
This is a fic I've been slowly writing to show who Max Caulfield became after Life is Strange and how she became entangled with the protagonists of the other games in the fanchise.
