By finally letting her in, Mike felt like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders, like the bottle he’d dissolved himself to fit smashed open and there’d been nothing to spill out but his love for her. There’s nothing she could need that he wouldn’t now be ready to give. But Eleven hasn’t said a word about it outside of a quiet “I heard” and her apparent need to kiss to forget — She’s done nothing to hearten him or quell his fear that it might have been too little, too late.
