Due to a severe blizzard that miraculously occurred the night before Winnie and Augustine would have departed together on that faithful car ride, signifying the events of the canon universe of "Cold Front," their potential heart-to-heart had been prevented. The opportunity to clear up the many misconceptions and feelings of resentment the two boys held against each other was never presented to them, nor did anyone perish, all because climate change had prevented their paranormal experience. Throughout their college years and descent into adulthood, neither the gloomy nor eccentric boy attempted to contact the other. It must have been fate that led them to run into each other one cold night of December 10 or so years later, whether it be for the better or worse.
