Fina could not tear her gaze away.
Jesús noticed.
“Marta. To the room.”
Marta stood up. The noise around them seemed to lower. She crossed the room slowly, her gaze fixed on Fina, her step calm, sure. She stopped in front of her.
Then she smiled. A barely hinted smile, cold, perfect.
“Come.”
She took her hand. The contact was firm, warm, without hesitation. Fina felt a shiver run up her arm. Marta did not turn back. She guided her toward the staircase, one step after another, away from the music, the smoke, the noise of the world.Toward her room.

A story against war.
Against all wars.Fina is in Sarajevo, in 1994, among the ruins left by the war in the former Yugoslavia.
The setting belongs to my previous fanfiction, National Geographic, but you can read this without knowing what came before.
Fina is a war correspondent, holding her camera tight against her chest, courage burning in her eyes.
She’s there to witness the horror, to give a voice to those who have lost theirs.
Marta is waiting for her at home, surrounded by silent walls and small, broken routines.

Summary
Summer, 1986. Marta is spending time alone in her country house near Toledo when she meets Fina, a National Geographic photographer. Fina was supposed to rent the place next door, but a mix-up in the lease leaves her without a roof over her head. Inspired by The Bridges of Madison County, what begins with casual stories and shared smiles slowly breaks Marta’s solitude and opens the door to possibilities she never imagined.
