He surely didn’t need the fuzzy packets of warmth, but he had them. Undoubtedly, he had them for her. Sydney would complain about her constant cold fingers and dry knuckles often, she shouldn’t have been surprised Carmy wasn’t just listening but cataloging the facts about her into some place in his brain. It made her ache, to be thought of like that.

Summary
For most of his life, Carmy never thought of himself as a jealous person.
He’s never been jealous of anyone he’s worked with. If anything, being around talented chefs always pushed him to be better. He studied them, absorbed what they knew, used it as fuel.
He's never been jealous of his siblings, either. What was there to be jealous of? They were all treated the same by their shitty, abusive parents and could only count on each other.
He's never been a jealous boyfriend. Okay, sure, he hasn't dated much, but even when he was dating Claire, he didn’t get annoyed if a guy stared too long at her or tried to hit on her.
But that was before today.

Carmy has no idea what he did right, but he's fucking loving the result.
