    Summary

    Requiem (n.)
An act or token of remembrance.
A musical composition written for a funeral mass.

You find yourself drowning in the aftermath of the Rumbling. You were once a state musician for Marley, praised and paraded as a symbol, even as you were exploited and silenced. Now you drift through the wreckage, broken by loss and buried in grief.
Then you meet Captain Levi, a soldier of Paradis, once known as humanity’s strongest soldier, now a man unraveling beneath the weight of everyone he couldn’t save.
In the aftermath of the end of the world, you learn what it means to endure.

And what it means to love again.

    Summary

For some individuals, memories run so deep that they can remember the very moment of their birth—their first cry, their first scream—and even the admiring “oohs” and “awws” of their parents as they marvel at their newborn. While most parents cherish the new life they’ve brought into the world and envision a promising future for their child, Ink and Error were different.

They were always at odds—two forces clashing in a strange, never-ending battle. Their fights, filled with broken bones, scorched paint, and snapping strings, might have seemed dangerous to an outsider, yet the two secretly knew that they’d never kill each other.

Then, during their fight in the Anti-Void, something unexpected happened. Right beside them, a large splotch of ink appeared out of nowhere. It swirled and shifted until it formed a small, bony figure with a surprisingly whiny voice that sounded liquidy, as if the small thing was underwater.

“What the hell is that?” The Destroyer growled, narrowing his eyes and pulling tighter on the strings that connected him to the Creator.

    Summary

The door to your cell opens without a sound. The bit of light that trickles in from the outside haloes the silhouette of a man in a suit. The horns that curl around his ears tell you all that you need to know. So, it’s one of those days. Lovely.
“Good morning, are you feeling useful today?” The man, Schlatt sneers.
You don’t answer. You couldn’t if you wanted to. The metal mask welded onto the bottom half of your face prevents you from so much as opening your mouth. It was silly, really. They had no idea how your powers worked and yet they were so wary, so afraid.
Finally, you lift your head and meet the devil’s eyes. He sees no compliance in your gaze, only a blankness that was born from your time in this personal hell. Schlatt sighs and turns, “I’ll be back.” It’s a promise. It’s a threat.
    ...

Or, in a world with gods, superheroes, and supervillains, the "heroes" lock you up to be their weapon until the "villainous" Syndicate manages to break you free. With your memories gone, a thirst for vengeance is all you have left, and joining the villains doesn't sound like the wrong thing to do. At least they don't pretend to be good.
