I’m looking at her, which is how I notice her picking the peach slices off the melted ice cream and eating them, one by one, with her fingers. She closes her eyes, and I wonder if we’re stuck in the same memory. I could live in it forever, I could, but I need to stop clinging to the past.
“Belly?”
“Yeah?”
“If you need somewhere to stay while looking for a place of your own, I have a spare room.”

Summary
Conrad is working on understanding what it feels like to go an entire day and not actively think about Isabel Conklin. He’s pretty conflicted about it, truthfully.
(Conrad doesn't see Belly in the airport, and Belly doesn't say anything to him before she boards her flight. He flies back to California that night assuming the wedding went on without him.)
