Crypto inspected Hack briefly; the little drone was charged and ready to attack everyone, it would be good to start the fight with advantage. Though, even with the new idea, Crypto frowned with disgust. This was so annoying, the plan wasn’t perfect, they were in great disadvantage right now- what if Wraith made a portal for her squad, and they came to eliminate them, quick and effective? What if Valkyrie decided to fly her squad to them, cornering them? Or Gibraltar doing an aggressive push? They didn’t have any extra cover that wasn’t the rock protecting them from Wraith’s hemlok bullets, with Bangalore occasionally glancing at their hiding spot with her charged sentinel.
Beside the angry Korean man was Mirage, his fellow Legend and squad mateMirage glanced around their surroundings in a nervous way, he knew that, maybe, in a way, it was a little his fault that Crypto was this mad.
Okay, maybe it was totally his fault. And Loba’s. Totally Loba’s fault.

Midas let out a deep laugh.
“Do you think you’re in the position to ask for things?” Midas took a step forward, closing the small space between them again. It wasn’t only how Montague was talking to him, but his entire attitude from the beginning as well.
The arrogance was irritating.
Montague only smiled and looked at him defiantly. Well… Midas now looked like the type of person who played with his victims before killing them, Montague could accept that… but he refused to abandon his pride even in this moment.
“Well, you haven’t killed me yet, so maybe I am. Unless… you're afraid.” Montague couldn’t help himself, unable to keep his mouth shut. It took him a second to realize he had just taunted Midas– not that it mattered, he was dead anyway.

Summary
Sometimes Midas refused to believe that one time where Montague told him that sirens didn’t exist and that he wasn’t one of them because they didn’t exist, duh; just a drunk sailor fairytale. Sirens in the media sang beautifully and were deadly, maneater creatures, mermaids on the other side were docile and sweet. For Midas, Montague was a siren: one that had captivated him like a siren would do to a sailor.
Montague’s already hugely inflated ego didn’t need to know that yet, though.

The egg was pearly white and had something Midas couldn’t point, but it seemed almost… iridescent? Like Montague’s tail. it was… pretty. It was really pretty.Midas held it with great care, maybe it wasn’t like a human birth but it was one nonetheless.
He felt a smile taking over his face.
