Summary
Scar knew his "magic crystals" were absolutely worthless, just shards of glass he spent way too much time making look good so he could really sell the wizard vibe he was going for this season. The whole thing annoyed Grian, too, so that was an added bonus. It was fun, and Scar didn't really care if Grian didn't play along with his magic bit as easily as some of the other hermits. What Scar wasn't prepared for, though, was finding out that Grian was a huge hypocrite, and the wings that appeared on his back are a dead giveaway.

George’s best friend was hiding something. He saw it in the way Dream seemed to keep him at a distance, in the way Dream seemed to flinch away whenever he got too close. And George wanted to get too close. He didn’t quite understand it, how something too powerful to resist seemed to be pulling him towards Dream. And with a tyrant on the loose, the biggest event of the year to plan, and a sudden streak of odd behavior from Dream, George had hoped beyond anything else that it would all end well.
He was wrong, of course.
And really, he should have known better.

Summary
It heaves out one final exhale and grows still. He can almost feel the loss of energy under his hand as the spark in it goes out, leaving nothing behind but a hollow shell.
Dream feels hollow for a moment, too.
It doesn’t last. Triumph seeps into the void in his chest with a pleasant warmth that grows hotter when he spots the celebrations of his spectators. Their village will be tormented by the beast no more. He’s done something good, something helpful.
And yet, as he tugs his sword free from his slain enemy, the only thing on his mind is how much more he craves.

“He’s the first of three to destroy life as we know it! Shouldn’t we, well, get rid of him?!”
“Oh, no.” Phil raises his eyes with a sharp glare. “Believe me, I have my own way of preventing the apocalypse.”

Or, Techno, Wilbur, and Tommy are basically chaotic forces of nature, destined from birth to end the world and bring destruction. Most who hear of the tale of them are trying their best to track them down, and to end the monsters while they’re still young, still just children.
Phil has a different plan.
(In which Phil raises the minecraft equivalents of the anti-christ with love and support, so much so to the point where the world ending is really just a funny thought, and Phil has three kids who casually have powers that are bit more extreme than anything else in the world)

Small hoof fingers began softly playing with the dark purple feathers. Both hands, one player and one piglin, which held the sword loosened to nothing more than just a forgotten memory as one become more mesmerized at the glimmering, violet, shine that preened under all of the careful strokes and the other become more intrigued at the abnormal behaviors of what he once deem as a mindless mob he did not hesitate in killing.
“You’re a strange one aren’t you, mate?”
The piglin gave him a huff that sounded way too deep to be a child’s and an indifferent expression, his previously petting hands retreated back to his side and he stared the elder down with no hints of aggression or fear, as if he was the one dawning Netherite gear and not the other way around.

The meager crew had accepted this commission several weeks ago. At the time, accepting an offer from a mysterious cloaked figure who told tales of dangerous sea monsters had seemed like a good idea. He had made it sound simple: bring back the body of the merman only referred to as “Dream.”
As it turned out, Dream was exceptionally skilled at being a pain in the ass and renowned throughout the boat for his exceedingly annoying escapes.
Today, George hoped, would be different. Today, he would finally be done with all this hunting nonsense.
