Summary
“I always wondered if anyone would hear me,” he whispered, a quiet admission from a child who’d long since forgotten he was allowed to hope.
“I know,” Robin nodded, and her heart surged now with something deeper than sympathy. Deeper than understanding, even. Like her soul was reaching out and touching his.
---
Robin wants to understand her nakama. More than that, perhaps, she longs to understand herself. Sometimes, it's possible to do both at the same time.

Summary
“Maybe I can teach you, sometime.”
Usopp’s hand tightened around the pan handle. “It won’t be the same if I make them alone.”
“Dumbass,” Sanji sighed, swinging a long leg out to tap his toe against Usopp’s calf. He wasn’t wearing shoes, Usopp realized, instead having gone for a pair of warm socks. “I said I’d teach you, not let you do it alone.”
---
To Usopp, Sanji's pancakes are the second best pancakes in the world. That does not mean he wants Sanji to be cooking when he's still getting better from his illness, so he takes it upon himself to help. Conversations arise.

Summary
Sunny? Sanji racked his brain, searching desperately for something to connect with that name. Slowly, through the haze, he caught glimpses of grass, a homey kitchen and tangerine trees. He could picture sails and a grinning flag with a straw hat. Could hear the trill of a violin, bubbling laughter and swords being sharpened and polished. Could smell sweet perfume, meat and ocean. A ship. Sunny.
“Home…” he whispered.
---
When Sanji contracts a dangerous illness, memories of past trauma are brought closer to the surface than he ever wished for. Thankfully, his crew has no plans of letting him weather the storm alone.

Summary
Sanji hadn't expected Zeff to get so mad at him for playing with carrots during a busy dinner service. He goes to bed that night anticipating the worst, and when Zeff shakes him awake from a nightmare, Sanji fears he might have actually gone too far this time. There can only be one reason for the dark stairway Zeff's dragging him to in the middle of the night.
The look on Zeff's face was the same disappointed coldness that so often clouded
Father'sJudge's gaze. Sanji spends the rest of service working with wobbly hands and a too-fast heartbeat.Bookmarked by Myriam_Hatake
