Thranduil wakes gradually, slowly, to the touch of gentle hands on his back. As he pleasantly floats from peaceful sleep into awareness, the last fleeting remnants of the night's dream slip away, fading into insubstantial whispers at the edges of his consciousness.
Thranduil wakes up. Then, with the unexpected help of Lindir, he wakes up. Things escalate and prove harder to deal with than thought. Meanwhile, Elrond is his usual sweet minded self and just happy to be there.

Summary
Fifteen years after the end of the Dominion War, Cardassia is poised to return to the musical stages of the quadrant. Ekor Laset, conductor in chief of the New Cardassian State Orchestra, and Elim Garak, his long-time husband and consenting property, are preparing for the grand reopening of the Tret Akleen Concert Hall. Throughout the evening, in true Cardassian associative manner, they remember and re-live their journey together, their hardships and their becoming.
