When Kili was little, he went through a time when he loved animals.
It was perfectly normal, of course, for dwarflings to learn about animals. Fili, Kili’s proud and so-much-older brother, worked very hard with his nadadith to make sure he could name all the important ones (it was a matter of brotherly pride, after all).
Then he introduced sounds, and maybe it got a little out of hand.
