Summary
"In the dark Charles likes to slip into Erik’s reptile brain and curl up within the rise and fall of his breathing and the steady tick of his heart, all the plain-spoken rhythms of the limbic system. Erik can feel him there like a second soul, and he sleeps soundly now, cushioned from the nightmares. They had been terrible at first, worse even than what had always plagued him. He still dreamt of the camp, mud and twisted wire and the toxic stench of death, but then he saw a beach too, the earth shifting out from under his feet in waves of hot sand, the sun wheeling closer and closer, and Charles lying wrapped in white with pennies on his eyes."
Charles is gone, lost to a stray bullet on a Cuban beach.
Well, to everyone else he's gone. For Erik, he's closer than ever.

Summary
There’s a battle strategy devised by humans many millennia ago that's designed to overcome an adversary who is particularly well entrenched. Some walls are too tall and thick for a frontal assault, and must instead be bested through sheer dogged stubbornness.
Crowley and Aziraphale didn’t know it, but they were about to be put under siege.
Fed up with an angel and a demon who are still avoiding any talk of Feelings, God starts to interfere. When it comes to the ineffable plan, sometimes things need a bit of a push.

Summary
He finally turned to the angel and was caught off guard by the way Aziraphale was studying him. For the second time that day, he was struck by an expression he’d never seen on the other's face before. If he didn't know better he would almost say it was fond, but there was an unmistakable undercurrent of sadness in the angel’s expressive eyes.
"You remind me so much of him sometimes." The words were barely above a whisper. "It's easy for me to forget…""Wot?" Crawly felt his brows shoot above his sunglasses. Surely the angel couldn't mean..
"Nothing." A nervous smile. “Just rambling to myself. A bad habit I’ve acquired over the years, I’m afraid." He fidgeted with his hands before lifting them both up. "Well, I do think we've spent enough time here. Our sides wouldn't like it if we dawdled." And yet, he made no move to stand.

You can’t blame Crowley for taking up Aziraphale’s offer. The first time since the dawn of creation that an angel offers to lead a demon into temptation, and he’s supposed to, what, say “nah?”

Summary
Aziraphale (posing as Crowley) returns from hell much later than anticipated, Crowley talks to God, and a very old book prompts a confession that should have been made years (millennia) ago.
---
“I think I prayed,” Crowley blurted suddenly, just as the last of the gashes on his hand were healed. Aziraphale’s head snapped up to meet Crowley’s eyes and he pulled away to better see the expression on Crowley’s face.
“To whom?” the angel asked softly, thinking perhaps Crowley didn’t mean what Aziraphale thought he did. “To—”
“Yes,” Crowley interrupted, anticipating Aziraphale’s question. “I didn’t know what else to do.”

Summary
“Lovely day, isn’t it?” says a friendly, American voice.
Crowley looks up from his mobile to find someone has joined him on the park bench, where he’s been waiting for Aziraphale to tear himself away from his newly restored bookshop for lunch. She’s an older woman, thin, with a polite smile and halo of curly hair that’s gone grey. Her eyes are very blue, and there’s something vaguely familiar about her, like she’s someone Crowley had seen once a long time ago or maybe in a film he can’t quite recall.
