“You know any more about this than we do?” Daryl asked, voice rough with something that Barnes either couldn’t remember the name of or had never had a name for.
That was a question.
Original mission parameters were to not engage with anyone who wasn’t Hydra, keep himself functional, and wait for further instruction. As far as Barnes had heard and been told, Hydra hadn’t had anything to do with the outbreak, but they had thought that they would be able to use it. That they hadn’t picked him up before the programming decayed said that they had misjudged the situation, but he wasn’t absolutely certain.
"Not as far as I’m aware.”
Daryl paused, jaw clenched, shoulders in a taut line, hands tight on his bow.
