Caelus wasn't concerned about the nature of his secondary gender, or even what his secondary species would be. He was a follower of the Trailblaze, and settling down with a future partner or partners was the furthest thing from his mind.
However, when he suddenly presents while the Astral Express is visiting Penacony, it becomes a very pressing matter indeed. The bodies on either side of him, pressing him into the makeshift nest he had thrown together of couch cushions and clothes in a drained Dreampool, were proof enough of that, and just as pressing of a matter.

The condescending remark from Dr. Ratio left a sour taste to Caelus as though to mock him for usual stupidity and ignorance. He wanted his own petty revenge to prove that there were things he too was knowledgeable of something that the Intelligentsia Guild scholar was ignorant of.
Unfortunately, the Trailblazer may have bargained more than what he asked for...
