However, as the season moves on, he finds himself drawn more into the Darvis's social circle. In particular towards the brooding and melancholy patriarch Edgin Darvis, who has taken a distinct and vehement dislike to him.

Summary
Tired of Loki's refusal to pick a suitor, King Odin decides to throw a contest where the prize is his son's hand in marriage. While no one can completely dissuade him, Thor offers up an alternative: if he wins the contest, Odin has to leave Loki alone and, in exchange, Odin will get to choose his spouse instead. The situation is further complicated when Thor finds out that Peter Quill, the person he's had a forbidden crush on since childhood, will also be entering the contest. Winning would spare his brother, but it'd also prevent Thor from ever being with the one he truly desires. Not that he'd ever had a chance in the first place... right?

That does not mean he's ready for the day when Xenk comes home without any recollection of him, of them, of what they have.
