“This sucks,” Chandler bemoaned, finally reaching the front entrance of his building. The rain still hadn’t let up, and due to the rapidly approaching winter, it was already dark and hadn’t even turned eight o’clock yet. The rain hadn’t let up either; the downpour continued to pound down in the streets of New York.
Streetlights and passing car headlights reflected off the glistening pavement in an array of whites, reds and blues. Chandler stepped into the foyer of his apartment building, shaking off his umbrella.
He hoped Mr Trager wouldn’t tear him a new one about leaving rainwater all over the entrance. But he was honestly too tired and too embittered to care about what their superintendent thought.
All he cared about was seeing Joey, and maybe the others. But definitely Joey.
