Watching Enid cry was like watching a rainbow melt from the sky, her eyeshadow dripping into bubblegum-pink tears across her cheeks.
A small, insignificant part of Wednesday wanted to reach out and wipe Enid’s tears away, which was clear evidence that Wednesday was not in her right mind. Some type of contagious insanity must have been burrowing into them, that’s the only explanation for why Wednesday craved physically comforting another person.
Instead of holding her, Wednesday glowered with barely contained rage.
