"This is a formal announcement of an alliance between the Wen clan of Qishan and the Jin clan of Lanling, by way of marriage between the eldest son of the Wen clan, Wen Xu, and the eldest son of the Jin clan, Jin Ziyao. To celebrate this alliance, we invite a representative from each sect to attend the grandest of weddings. This attendance is mandatory, and it is expected that a blood member of each sect will be present. Owing to these uncertain times, a ceasefire will be in effect for the duration of the celebrations. Jin Rusong, first and only son of the esteemed Lianfang-zun, was soon to come of age alongside his cousin in the first generation to have not experienced the Sunshot Campaign almost thirteen years ago.
Never being one for the gossip that reigned throughout the jianghu, Jin Rusong was aware that some secrets and rumors would escape him, 'common knowledge' that he did not know.
Not one of those instances would be that the cultivation world almost conjointly doubted his parentage. If he did not have his father's hair, stature, nose, or manners, and if he was already taller than both his parents at twelve years old, naturally, he could not be Jin Guangyao's child!
However, Jin Rusong knew a truth he had sworn never to utter: his mother was not his mother and no one but said esteemed Lianfang-zun had a damn clue who his father was.
