Not one to waste time on things he didn't understand he turned back to the monkey still hanging limp in his arms and decided the best course of action was to take him with him to Flower Fruit Mountain. There was no better place for a monkey to be after all! He told his unknowing audience as much as he threw him over his shoulder.
Monkey King is excited to find another monkey like him. Macaque is decidedly less so.

Macaque thought it'd be fun to go to a party to make Wukong mad, however ever since MK and Mei were able to persuade him to go, they keep trying to get him to come to more. Even when he says no, he always ends up running into Wukong anyway.

“Is it bad?” Wukong asks from the other side of the fire, cast in an orange glow. Macaque looks up at him and rolls his eyes.
“Could be worse,” he says. It’s a half truth. It doesn’t feel bad, mostly because the area has already begun to go numb, which might be worse. “Might be poisoned, though. Stupid thing was probably venomous.”
“Shit. Is it…?”
Life-threatening?
Macaque snorts. “Guess we'll have to sit here and find out, huh?”

Macaque accidently acquires an artifact from Wukongs treasure vault thinking its nothing special.
Spoiler alert: It's VERY special.
(The fic where a lovesick Macaque uses an artifact not realizing that an equally lovesick Wukong can feel whatever he's doing to it. Wukong goes full detective mode to find the culprit and Macaque tries to help with whatever is bothering his secretive best friend. Absolute buffoonery and shenanigans abound.)

Summary
The Six-eared Macaque is a demon known for stealing faces, he took identities, pretending to be others for years on end before giving back their lives. He thought he would be doing that for eternity but eventually Heaven got fed up with his ways and captured him. Now, he only has two choices : either be executed for his crimes or become the attendant of the current Bimawen, formerly known as the fearful Monkey King. Of course he chose the second option and now he's stuck under the orders of a prideful pick tending to the celestial stables.
