Summary
The first time they made out in one of the company’s practice rooms, Euijoo didn’t dare bring it up—because what was he even supposed to say?
That he thought his peer’s completely ordinary-looking scar was hot? That he’d been fixated on it ever since catching a glimpse during their first day of filming, all those months ago? That he’d spent far too many sleepless nights wondering how it would feel—how it would taste—beneath his tongue?
Yeah, no.

Summary
Euijoo found it hard to pretend around Nicholas. After all, they had been stuck to one another’s side for years, going through the deepest depths of hell and the highest peaks of heaven together. The way in which he unravelled the very fabric of Euijoo’s soul, thread by thread, was maddening. The façade he had so carefully crafted seemed to crumble in Nicholas’ hands, becoming thin dust for the wind to carry away. And that terrified him. It shook his entire core from its respective place. And so he ran. He ran and ran, away from the warm sun that was Nicholas’ embrace. Away from the heated feeling in his chest that felt like flowers blooming in the early spring. He didn’t need any of it. He didn’t deserve any of it.
or,
Euijoo's prolonged internal battle with himself finally meeting its end.

Summary
The first time EJ sees him, it’s on the beach, and he is drowning, thrashing in the dark water, the sand long gone grey under the moonlight.
By the time EJ pulls the boy out, his clothes are soggy and his eyes are raw with an emotion that can’t or won’t find its way out through his lips, so has found another escape. He doesn’t meet EJ with an apology, or a thank you, or even his name. Instead, he just scowls, his lungs wheezing with something that sounds frightening, and shoves EJ back. This time, at least, he stomps away from the sea, not towards it.
EJ, butt sore on the clumpy sand, watches him go.
Much, much later, EJ will regret this moment. Will regret even more how, even though Nico was the one with saltwater in his lungs, saving him doomed EJ to drown instead.
Nico and EJ spend a summer pouring salt into open wounds and watching them heal anyway.
